From Studio Chaos to Curated Archive
Jenny came to me with over sixty years of artwork—scattered across her studio, galleries, and storage—with no central archive. Much of it had never been photographed or documented, and she had never seen her work gathered thematically—or viewed as a whole.
Over the course of two Design Days, we entered over 500 pieces into a spreadsheet with thumbnails, titles, details, and themes. For the first time, her artwork and image folders were organized by subject matter—and each file was renamed to match the spreadsheet, creating a cohesive, searchable system. This foundational work brought clarity, revealed unexpected connections, and laid the groundwork for a future website.
The Outcome
Shortly after our work together, an art dealer visited Jenny’s studio. When Jenny shared the archive, the dealer asked to see the full listing and was so impressed by the clarity and scope of the collection that she offered Jenny a solo show the following year. This is exactly the kind of result I hope for—clarity that preserves the past and opens new doors.
